In between his wanderings from world to world, the reaper Macmillan stumbled upon a girl singing in a lifeless ruin, and found his soul enthralled. Thus, he offered her a deal.
"I have a proposal for you. Would you allow me to be your producer?"
As for the girl's price...

The girl whose songs were life and death—who desired both in equal measure—wanted a stage. He gave her one that was hers alone, detached from the world. There, she became a slayer of gods, and to hear her song was to know death. How wondrous a thing, to sing so freely.
