Edeth was entrusted with the extermination of the undead. He and his subordinates freed the souls trapped within countless undead. Even so, his cursed bloodline sometimes drew unexpected hostility.

Troubling to think a lower being like that thought itself capable of ending my life. Clearly I am not as renowned as I thought. No matter. No one, be they undead or even my subordinate, shall keep me from becoming a cardinal!
